Dear Chapter Representative,

The MDF merchandise program was a great success in 2011. The success of the program can be attributed to the following; the MDF National Headquarters moved in to a space that provided a more suitable place to store and ship MDF merchandise, the addition of Gregg Zumwalt as the warehouse manager added additional needed support to the program, and the merchandise program was moved to a web-based ordering system that greatly enhanced the program.

The new MDF facility is nothing fancy. It is located in a commercial warehouse district in Salt Lake City, Utah. However, it provides suitable space to store and manage merchandise, something MDF has not had in the past. The warehouse storage allows MDF to order and store larger quantities of merchandise that has reduced order turnaround time considerably. If you are ever in SLC, we invite you to come by and take a look.

Gregg Zumwalt is knowledgeable and dedicated to quality. Gregg has taken a large load of responsibilities from Ray Crow. Greg is focused on timely order processing, order tracking, chapter communication as well as order fulfillment and shipping. Gregg is available to assist chapters with any of your merchandise needs. Please don’t hesitate to call him if you have questions.

The web-based chapter catalog has streamlined the ordering process for chapters. It’s not perfect, but it is always being changed and improved according to chapter needs. The program allows chapters to log in, place their order, have the order reviewed and approved by the chapter RD, see the order status, and receive tracking information for the order. The on-line catalog has saved MDF in printing costs, makes it possible to add additional items throughout the year and also remove discontinued items, giving chapters an accurate view of available MDF merchandise. There will be instances where substitutions for ordered merchandise may need to occur but all efforts will be made to minimize this and if it needs to occur, the chapter will be notified.

There is new merchandise in the catalog for 2012. Unfortunately, there is not an easy way to notify chapters of new 2012 merchandise at this time but a solution is in the works. The plan is to have a “New for 2012” section on the site that will highlight the new merchandise. This solution requires additional programming and will take some time. In the meantime, please be patient as steps are taken to improve this program.

Some items of particular importance for 2012 are the Remington and Marlin rifles. MDF negotiated some great prices for these rifles and ordered sufficient quantities to handle most of the chapter’s rifle requests. Please take advantage of these great rifles at great prices. Ordering guns through the MDF merchandise program allows MDF to grow the program while enhancing relationships with large gun manufacturers. Please keep checking the web site often and browse around, you will see some of the great items and great buys MDF has to offer.
